2nd network meeting in Hamburg
The 2nd network meeting took place in Hamburg on 6th February. All network partners were warmly invited. The event was highly interesting, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the two hosting network partners for their hospitality and for organising the event. The meeting focused on the mutual exchange of information and on furthering the connections between network members.
The participants were first invited to the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, HAW) in Bergedorf. Over the course of the morning, the network members had the opportunity to get to know the university's technology centre and sensor technology laboratory during a tour of the facilities. Prof. Dr. Andrea Bauer, Prof. Dr. Riehn, and Prof. Dr. Holle explained the various options for student education at their institution. They also shed some light on their close scientific collaboration with the business community, particularly in the sensor technology and product development divisions of the ecotrophology department. Collaborations like this one offer several points of contact that cater to the interests of the network partners with an industrial background.
In the afternoon, Hamburger Leistungsfutter GmbH welcomed the participants at their facilities in Harburg. Manager Dr. Reimann introduced his company and elaborated on the connection between omega-3 and animal feeds as well as on the resulting potential benefits concerning health and welfare of humans and animals.
The network management then took over with a presentation on the current state of affairs. Participants also had the opportunity to share their thoughts on new project ideas and additional activities.
A factory tour at Hamburger Leistungsfutter GmbH concluded the eventful day.
