Lipromar GmbH, headquartered in Cuxhaven, has been producing high-quality, unmixed fish oils for the food industry from marine fish from aquaculture and fisheries since 2011. Their fish by-products mainly come from the fish processing industry. The company is therefore committed to utilising as many raw materials as possible for the food industry. By-products, such as heads, trimmings, and backbones are rich in valuable fatty acids and proteins, which makes them very interesting for the food industry. The oil is extracted by gently heating and separating the raw materials. Since 2015, proteins are also extracted and dried. This additional production stage means that the raw materials can be used to their full potential and become fully incorporated into the food supply chain. Research and development have always been crucial to the company's success. The research and development activities are currently focusing on optimising fish oil production and fish oil quality and on utilising fish proteins for a wide range of different applications.
